Welcome to Newton Longville

‘Newton’ comes from the Old English, meaning ‘new farm’. The ‘Longville’ was a 13th century addition from the Cluniac priory in Longueville, France, which held the manor at that time. The villages are still twinned to this day.

Between 1947 and 1991, the village was known for its brick making. The Read family were the original owners and the Fletton bricks made there were used all over the country.

The Parish Council arrange a Garage Sale Trail through the village, in association with St Faith’s Church. There are also allotments available in the village. The Curly Tails Pig Sanctuary in the village has around 40 rescue pigs and accepts visits by appointment.
